Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Thousands of residents of Amuntai City and its surroundings flocked to celebrate the New Year's Eve by attending Tabligh Akbar (mass prayer) and Lailatul Qira'at (night of reciting) and shalawat held by the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District Government in front of the regent's office in the Amuntai city roundabout fountain.
Dozens of national and international qori alternately read the holy verses of the Noble Qur'an seemed to be a magnet for the Amuntai people.
In his remarks, Regent HSU H. Abdul Wahid HK expressed his gratitude for filling in the activities of the New Year's Eve by holding Tabligh Akbar together with Habib Ali Zainal Abidin Bin Muhsin Al Hindun and reciting the Qur'an and prayers in hopes of leaving 2018 on the record of good deeds and welcome 2019 with a note of good deeds.
Previously, Wahid said, it had been instructed to all levels of society through the mosque and mushalla in the HSU to fill the end year-night with religious activities while giving direction not to carry out activities that were less positive.
Facing the 2019 Election, he advised whatever choice that the citizens of HSU would not reduce relations between family members to be tenuous.
"Even though our choices are different, we should not reduce our friendship, not to break our cohesiveness and not to disturb our harmony," said Regent Wahid.
Wahid also invited all residents to pray for the good of themselves, their families and the environment as well as the district in order to achieve HSU's vision of being solid, advanced, independent, religious and productive, and prosperous. Eddy
