Rantau, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Regent Tapin HM Arifin Arpan together with his Deputy H Syafruddin Noor and other officials destroyed electronic ID (KTP-el) in Rantau Baru, Rantau, Wednesday (12/19) afternoon.
Secretary of the Tapin Civil Registry and Demography Agency (Disdukcapil) Sarkati said as many as 11,209 pieces of KTP-el were destroyed by burning.
"The number we destroyed today was 9,457 pieces. A few days before the same action was carried out to 1,752 pieces of KTP-el," he said.
He declared that all damaged KTP-el in the agency had all been destroyed. In the near future, the Disdukcapil will comb the damaged KTP-el in every sub-district in Tapin.
The destruction of the KTP-el was in accordance with a circular letter from the Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo who asked his staff to immediately destroy the electronic Identity Card (e-KTP) that was invalid or damaged.
