Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The joint team of the National Police Criminal Investigation Dept. (Bareskrim) and the South Kalimantan Special Crime Investigation Directorate dismantled the subsidized fuel hoarding practice of large-scale  (or so-called kelas kakap).

The fraudulent practice of over-fuel purchases, which should have been channeled to the public, was revealed after police arrested people who were filling and transporting diesel using a wooden truck with a 5,000-liter tank.

"We have secured five gas stations and two storage warehouses," said South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani, Monday (17/12).

Five gas stations (SPBU) allegedly involved in illegal subsidized fuel deceit, namely SPBU Sei Tabuk and SPBU Ahmad Yani Km 17 in Banjar District, and SPBU Km 6, SPBU Veteran, and SPBU Lingkar Dalam (Inner Ring Road) in Banjarmasin.

While the stockpiling warehouse is in East Berangas Village, Alalak, Barito Kuala District, and on Jalan Pamajatan, Gambut Subdistrict, Banjar.

Police chief stressed that the perpetrators revealed this time were indeed "big players". It is not the deceit practice usually done by retail fuel traders who resold on the roadside at kiosks or stalls.

It was proofed from the evidence found in the form of a number of wooden trucks and a modified box truck carrying a tank like a Pertamina tank truck or a company that transports fuel. Including five tank trucks that read PTASE.

"As a result of the interim inspection, the fuel was sold to Central Kalimantan and police continued to develop cases," explained the Regional Police Chief accompanied by Chief Ops. Sr Comr Isdiyono.

Until now investigators are still examining 18 witnesses to explore the distribution of 61 kiloliters of confiscated diesel fuel. In addition, the findings of around Rp130 million in cash and a number of shipping documents and money counting machines and books for recapitulation were developed.

So far 23 people have been named as suspects. They are warehouse keepers, gas station personnel, and buyers.
