Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan won an award from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights as the Human Rights Care District.

The award certificate was handed over by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasona Laoly to the Tanah Laut Regent H Sukamta, Tuesday (12/12) at the ministry office together with the commemoration of the World Human Rights Day.

According to the regent, the ministry assessed Tanah Laut District Government to have provided health rights, education rights, population rights, women's and children's rights, workers rights, and environmental sustainability rights.

"This success is the fruit of the real cooperation and work of the entire Tanah Laut District Government with all relevant parties," Regent H Sukamta pointed out.

The award, he continued, is in line with the implementation of basic services that are the rights of the people in Bumi Tuntung Pandang (nickname of the district).

"The basic service we provide is in the form of increasing the human development index. This index is a cumulative of health services, education, and community competitiveness," he said.

He hoped that this award would be an encouragement for the district government to carry out development that is increasingly concerned about human rights.
