Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) added three professors, so now the proud University of South Kalimantan has 43 professors.
The three lecturers who won the highest career level of academics were Prof. Dr. Ahmad Suriansyah MPd PhD from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Prof. Dr. Ir Mijani Rahman MSi from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, and Prof. Iryanti Fatyasari Nata from the Faculty of Engineering.
"Almost all faculties already have professors. Hopefully, in not too distant, the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) will also have professors, so that eleven faculties in ULM will have professors," said ULM Rector Prof. Dr. H. Sutarto Hadi on Monday ( 3/12).
After the inauguration at the ULM Rector's Hall, Sutarto, who was met by reporters, said that the existence of professors is very important for an institution, because it could confirm academic maturity in the faculty.
"If every study program at ULM had only one professor, then we would have at least 100 professors," he said.
Sutarto also believes that the lecturers at ULM are very worthy of becoming professors to see the academic progress of young lecturers who are truly proud. International publications can be equated with lecturers from leading universities in Indonesia.
