Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel)  - The South Kalimantan government prepares free legal assistance for the poor who are involved in legal cases, said South Kalimantan law officials.

Head of South Kalimantan Legal Bureau A Fidayeen in Banjarmasin said Monday that this free legal assistance is regulated in Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 10/2015 concerning the Implementation of Legal Aid for the Poor.

The bureau, according to Fidayen, is now aggressively socializing the regulation so that it can be understood by the public. "At present, we continue to strive to disseminate to various regions, one of which is in Tabalong," he said.

The socialization in Murung Pudak Subdistrict, Tabalong, was attended by 50 people with resource persons from the South Kalimantan DPRD, Regional Office of Ministry of Law and Human Rights, academics, and State Prosecutors Attorney of South Kalimantan.

According to him, the socialization is aimed at providing an understanding of equal rights in law. This socialization is the implementation of Law No.16/2011 concerning legal assistance.

"I hope that all people, especially the poor, will know about the local regulations on legal aid for the poor," he said.
