Kandangan, (Antaranews) - A 1300 Sonic Ford Laser caught fire on the South Ring Road of Tumbukan Banyu Village, South Daha Subdistrict, HSS, shocked residents who rushed to put it out together with firefighters.
South Daha Police Chief Sc Insp (Iptu) Hilmi Wansyah in Negara Thursday (29/11) said the car caught fire at about 12:15 just across the Semeru Garage 2 South Ring Road.
"There was no fatalities or injuries due to fire. Residents and firefighters extinguished it," he said,
Based on witnesses on the scene, the car was planned to be repaired by the owner in a garage across the scene. The car was parked on the side road and the engine was off.
About 30 minutes later, when the car turned on there was an explosion from the car engine. The car caught fire and local residents assisted by fire-fighting volunteers immediately extinguished the fire.
Car owner Aang Kurniawan (28), a resident of Banjarbaru Village, South Daha, is estimated to suffer millions of rupiah in losses because the car suffered severe damage.
