Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - PT Hero Supermarket Tbk in collaboration with the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) and the Ministry of Trade are trying to maintain food safety.


Both parties, on Thursday (21/11), held a discussion forum with the theme "Application of Food Safety to Achieve Good Retail Practices" in Banjarmasin.

Head of the Banjarmasin BPOM's Certification Section Yuyun Purwaningsih said this discussion forum is one of the efforts to increase retail competence.

According to her, retail as the responsible or front guard is responsible for food security guarantees starting from the agricultural production chain, food processing, to consumption.

"We want to provide education on how good retail management, starting from HR (SDM), documentation, to management," she said.

Retail supervision, she added, is always routinely held once a year and during holidays, such as Christmas, Eid Al-Fitr and others.

Some big retailers, such as Hero, Giant, and others, are cooperative enough to handle various problems. Some of the problems occur, for example, food without distribution permit, dented packaging, and others, she added..
     
BPOM, she added, had also provided socialization on how to check distribution permits for food and other products, both to entrepreneurs and the community.

Store Managers of Giant and Hero Supermarket in the Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, and Samarinda attended the discussion forum. Likewise, BPOM Samarinda and Balikpapan POM Station.

PT Hero Supermarket Tbk's GM Corporate Affairs said, through the discussion, he wanted to present shops that could be trusted by customers. One way is to maintain product quality and safety.

Besides in Banjarmasin, this discussion forum is also conducted in five other regions, namely Makassar, Surabaya, Serang, Palembang, and Semarang.
