Solo, (Antaranews Kalsel) - By planting medicinal plants, Lestari Ceria Group from Salam Babaris Subdistrict, Tapin, won an award from the Ministry of Health in Solo, Central Java, Tuesday (20/11) night.


The Tapin Family Welfare Movement (TP-PKK)'s guided group was ranked second in the independent traditional health care group through the utilization of family medicinal plants and acupressure in the village area category.

Ministry of Health's Director General of Health Services Dr Bambang Wibowo after submitting the award said all participants should continue to take advantage of the family medicinal plants (toga).

"The activity is not only up to the time of the assessment, but must continue so that it can be truly utilized by the community," he said.

Tapin Regent HM Arifin Arpan expressed his gratitude and pride in what was achieved by the Lestari Ceria Group which had brought the fragrant name of Tapin District at the national level in the health sector.

Chairwoman of TP PKK Tapin Hj Ratna Elyani Arifin Arpan said she and TP-PKK Tapin will continue to provide guidance to health cadres in villages on an ongoing basis about independent family medicine plants and acupressure care.

The Lestari Ceria group in Suato Baru Village does not only plant traditional medicinal plants. They also innovate with the results of their plants by making products, such as lemongrass tea, met up green juice, spray lavender insect repellent, enting-enting ginger, serayu syrup, instant ginger, and instant turmeric.

Also present at the awarding ceremony was Regent HM Arifin Arpan, Chairwoman of PKK Hj Ratna Ellyani, Head of Health Agency H Errani Martin, Chairwoman of TP PKK Salam Babaris Mrs Asnawi and Asman Toga Lestari Ceria Group Suato Baru Village.
