Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A police officer who is assigned in a village (Bhabinkamtibmas) of Kelua, Tabalong District, opens a reading booth for children to foster interest in reading and reduce their dependence on cellphone games.


Brigadier Alpian Noor, the bhabintamtibmas, said by opening a reading booth for children in Bahungin Village, they are expected to recognize letters, be able and used to reading.

"There are several reading books that we provide, including story books about astronauts, stories of the king of the jungle to the fairy tales of carp," Alpian said.
   
Besides being good at reading and writing, through this reading stall, children can add insight and experience.

Brigadier Alpian Noor was not alone. Tabalong Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. (AKBP) Hardiono said that the reading stall is an innovative program in the field of education which was pioneered by the Tabalong Police's Binmas (community development) Unit through Bhabinkamtibmas.
   
"We want to foster reading interest among children," Hardiono explained.

Including, he said, fostered feelings of love for the National Police for children and bhabinkamtibmas as friends.
