Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan and Riau are the biggest targets for selling G-class drugs such as Carnopen or PCC or commonly called Zenith.

Head of the North Hulu Sungai Food and Drug Administration (Loka POM) Bambang Heri Purwanto in Amuntai said on Wednesday this fact was based on the findings of the arrest of G-class drug producers in Java.

"A number of manufacturers of G-class drugs with billions of rupiah sales turned out their sales targets are South Kalimantan and Riau," Bambang said.

He said, South Kalimantan G-class drugs order reached 90 percent in the Kalimantan Region and then circulated again to East and Central Kalimantan.

Circulation of Zenith is rampant in HSU and Tanah Bumbu, that why in these two districts Loka POM are established. The goal is to reduce the level of drug abuse and harmful substances in food.

He explained that G-class drugs were banned since 2013 because they contained Carisoprodol which is quite dangerous if misused.

"It's been five years since 2013 these drugs are banned, but there is still circulation because raw materials are smuggled into Indonesia," he pointed out.

He explained, drugs containing Carisoprodol, Butirfentanil and Carfentanil work in the central nervous system. If it is used beyond the dose, it results to dependence and typical changes in mental activity and behavior.

The three types of substances on G-class drug have entered the list of class 1 narcotics. Anyone who owns uses, sells or even keeps are subjected to a prison threat of at least 4 years and a maximum of 20 years and a fine of at least Rp1 billion.
