Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Siber Unit of the South Kalimantan Regional Police's Special Crime Investigation Directorate have captured a hacker on a Facebook account belonging to Indonesian President Joko Widodo aide.


"We arrested a man with the initial A in Amuntai, North Hulu Sungai," said Special Crime Investigation Director Sr Comr (Kombes) Rizal Irawan.

The perpetrator has hacked Sr Comr Johnny Isir's Facebook account to commit fraud. This is known after the account owner posted a notification that the cell phone number in his name to communicate with other people and commit a crime not his.

The Siber team led by Head of Sub-Directorate of Banking for Money Laundering and World Crime (PPUKDM) Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Zaenal Arifien moved quickly to investigate until the perpetrator was secured in Amuntai.

Officers secure evidence of one handphone along with a SIM card used by the perpetrator to commit a fraud.

The mode is pretending to be a member of the TNI or Polri that he obtained from Facebook. The perpetrator seems to need help or sell something to the victim, of course, in the name of someone else.

For this incident, Rizal reminded social media users to always be aware of crimes that could occur, especially in cyberspace.

"Criminal acts in cyberspace are now quite rampant with various modus operandi. For that, social media users must be more vigilant and wise in using it so as not to violate the law," Rizal said.
