Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - As many as hundreds of transmigrants living in Sinar Baru Village, Rantau Badauh Subdistrict, Barito Kuala (Batola) complained about their fate to the provincial legislative council (DPRD) in Banjarmasin on Friday.

Since settling in the village of Sinar Baru (about 40 kilometers west of Banjarmasin) until now for several years most of the transmigration residents have not received a certificate as a basis for their land rights.

A lawyer for transmigration resident A Gafur explained his clients, both local and from other provinces in Indonesia, some of whom lived in Sinar Baru Village since 2004, 2005 to 2007.

"But those who get land certificates are only those who lived in 2004 to 2006. Even then only a small part, and those who have not received any certificates in 2007," he said before the DPRD's Commission I for Legal Affairs and Government.

"What also a problem is that the transmigration area has become a large oil palm plantation land of PT PUBB, a foreign citizen company," he continued.

Therefore, they hope that the South Kalimantan DPRD through Commission I fight for this to the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration.

In addition, the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) which is authorized to issue land certificates.

"Transmigration residents hope their land will regain with a certificate of ownership, even though the company once promised local residents as plasma participants," said Gafur.
