Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - South Kalimantan government still reserve 1,500 hectares of land for transmigrants from various regions who want to build agriculture and plantations in this area.
Head of South Kalimantan Manpower and Transmigration Antonius Simbolon here on Wednesday said , the land is
divided in three locations, namely in the area of ​​Angsana, Tanah Bumbu, in Sengayam, Kotabaru, and in the District of Balangan.
"All three of the area are considerably potential for the development of agriculture and plantation , and are suitable
for transmigration program," he said.
However, according to Anthony , in 2014 the central government and provincial has not been programmed transmigration, so that there are no plans to conduct research and technical assessment of the condition of the land.
Technical study was conducted to determine the feasibility of the goal area, whether it is appropriate to be developed or not. When feasible, then what good commodity to be developed, so as to support the improvement of the welfare of transmigrants and an increase in the expansion of regional development.
A land area of ​​1,500 hectares remaining it is expected to accommodate approximately 750 family migrants, both for
residential and agricultural fields. According to Antonius , when transmigration is not programmed , then the land could be used for other purposes.
Related to the possibility of natural disaster victims Sinabung want to transmigrate to the province, he admitted not get that information. " But if the program is right there, and regents ready to accept and work at it, we are very supportive, and technically ready to assist," he said.
