Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Some people in Simpang Empat Subdistrict, Tanah Bumbu, having trouble getting clean water for cooking and other needs.

A resident of the Grand Ar-Raudah Sarigadung Housing Complex, Mariono, in Batulicin, Wednesday, said so far the residents' clean water needs obtained from dug wells made by the housing developer in each house.

"For almost two weeks, many people have had difficulty getting clean water, because the wells are starting to dry out while there is no rain," he told.

Mariono said, some residents took the initiative to dig up the well up to four to six meters to get water sources, but these efforts have not yielded results. Sources expected did not exist.

In fact, one of the residents of Block C 17 dug the well deeper, but the result was that the springs coming out smell bad.

"Actually, this housing had existed a few years ago and the number of residents living in the housing reached 350 families (KK), but until now there has not been a clean water installation by the Tanah Bumbu Regional Water Company (PDAM)," he said.

The head of the PDAM Tanah Bumbu Sobari explained that the PDAM status is only the manager. It install the network according to conditions.

"Actually the installation of a PDAM pipe is the responsibility of the developer if there was an agreement before between the developer and the customer. While the installation of the distribution network will be assisted by the PDAM," said Sobari.
