Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A total of 23 students from all districts and cities in South Kalimantan will join the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara (SMN) or Students Know Archipelago program, which is a youth program in 2018 State-Owned Enterprises Present for the Nation (BHN) scheme organized by Bulog and PT Timah.


Head of Section Analysis and Selection of Environmental Affairs of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) Fernando Marcus in Banjarmasin on Tuesday said the 23 students were selected through the selection of 58 students by the South Kalimantan Education Agency.

"Initially, South Kalimantan presented 58 selected students from all schools in 13 regencies and municipalities, after our selection 23 students were selected, three of them students with disabilities," he said.

Initially all districts and cities sent representatives of their students, but after selection representatives from Tanah Laut and Kotabaru districts did not qualify.

All the students will be sent to Banten to learn about the various potentials in the area, such as about environment, culture, customs, economy, and others.

While South Kalimantan, he added, will also receive students from SMN Banten, to perform the same activities, including the state defending activities that will be guided by the Army (TNI AD).

"Particularly in South Kalimantan, all SMN participants from Banten will also follow various activities that have been prepared, such as journalism training and social media, cultural and environmental introduction, book review, and know about South Kalimantan," he said.

According to him, SMN activities that start from August 11 to one week in South Kalimantan are quite solid and almost no time is not utilized properly.

"We hope that this activity can run maximally, so the purpose of the implementation of SOEs Present for the Nation can really be felt by all parties," he said.

According to Fernando, in the 2018 BHN program in South Kalimantan, the Ministry of SOE appointed Bulog and PT Timah as the organizer of the series of activities.

In addition to SMN activities, BHUN will also be filled with ceremonies with all state-owned enterprises in South Kalimantan, a healthy walkalong five kilometers and various other activities.
