Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) government has developed a child-friendly community health center or puskesmas to improve health services based on child conventions.
Head of the HSU Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DPPPA) Gusti Iskandariah in Amuntai on Friday said the government is continuing to improve the status of child friendly districts (KLA).
To meet the commitment, she added, now efforts to improve public services and regional development, always consider the needs of children.
"Now we also have a child-friendly puskesmas," said Gusti.
There are several indicators of child-friendly puskesmas, including the provision of child friendly playgrounds, friendly medical personnel, and adequate nutrition services for children.
She added that HSU already has educators and healthcare services personnel trained under the Convention on the Child Rights.
Institutionally child protection has also been well structured, even HSU has a Family Service Center (Puspaga) in the effort to prevent early marriage and guidance of care by professionals.
"The role of government agencies and businesses is also increasing in the fulfillment of children's rights, among which we have signed MoU with Bank Kalsel and Efi pharmacy," she said.
The agency is also aggressively socializing the protection and fulfillment of children's rights through local media.
"Alhamdulillah we also have a child profile in 34 villages and continue to be developed," she said.
Previously, the HSU's status of Child Friendly District was Pratama (Beginner) in 2017, this year it increase to the category of Madya (Middle). The next target to be achieved by the Government of HSU is Utama (Superior) category.
