Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - For the second time Tabalong, South Kalimantan, won the Child Friendly District (KLA) award from the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection.

Regional Secretary of Tabalong Abdul Muthalib Sangadji in Tanjung, Wednesday, said this year the predicate of KLA has been improved to madya (middle) level.

"In 2017 we won the KLA Pratama award and this year we received the KLA Madya," explained Sangadji.

The award was handed over directly by the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Yohana Susana Yembise to each of the districts and cities of KLA winners.

To achieve this award there are at least five assessment indicators, including the fulfillment of civil rights and child freedom, family environment and alternative care, basic health and welfare of children with special needs.

"In the indicator there is a score for each rating according to its level," explained Head of Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning Agency Hormansyah

For pratama score between 500 - 600, 600 - 700 for madya, 700 - 800 for nindya, and 800 - 900 for utama.

Tabalong's success in ranking from pratama to madya, said Hormansyah, can not be separated from its success in assessing institutional points, child protection and education.

Hormansyah remarked Tabalong targets to move up from madya to nindya by cooperating across government working units (SKPD), such as for preparing public facilities.
