Head of Batu Tunau Village Supiani said during this time farmers sell oil palm to Batulicin. "But the constraints is transport cost," he said.
Especially now the selling price of oil palm is falling. Farmers on dilemma to harvest, because the cost of transport to Batulicin quite large, while the selling price fell.
"The price of fresh fruit bunches is Rp350 per kg, harvest fee Rp200, so land owner only receives Rp150 per kg," he said.
Head of East Pulau Laut Sub-district Erawati said the community-owned oil palm plantation area here is ??3000 hectares. Mostly in Sejakah Village, Batu Tunau Village, and Tanjung Pengharapan Village. "Of the 14 villages, only three villages do not grow palm oil," he said.
Meanwhile, DPRD Kotabaru Speaker Alfisah said the local government should not only help farmers groups for plantation, but also about marketing.
Head of Post-Processing and Post-Harvest Section of Plantation Agency Eddy Rahmadi said it has coordinated with palm oil companies in Pulau Laut that are still short of raw materials.
"Currently PT BSS can not accept, the nearest is PT BRI, but the capacity they can receive is only 50 tons per day, we will coordinate again with the management for other steps can be done," he said.
