Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The high number of drug criminal cases makes the Head of South Kalimantan Prosecutors Office Ade Eddy Adhyaksa sad and concerned. He hopes public awareness grows to bring the addict for a rehabilitation.

"Do not wait to be arrested first to be rehabilitated," he said, Tuesday.

According to Ade, the rehabilitation institutions for drug addicts should be socialized to the maximum, including adding rehab referral places if needed.

"The mindset should be changed. People used to think as long as they are not caught by the police, even though an addict is a victim who must be saved or cured without waiting to be arrested," Ade stressed.

He pointed out the importance of the family's role to consciously delivering his family member if indicated as an addict to the health center that became the referral of the South Kalimantan National Narcotics Agency (BNNP).

"We at the Prosecutors Office commitmentted to firstly conduct an assessment with an integrated team if there a criminal drug caught by the police, make sure first whether the perpetrator is an addict that must be rehabilitated," he explained.

Because, according to Ade, the imposition of criminal or imprisonment penalty has not been enough to cause a deterrent effect.

"If for the dealer, let alone the bookie, we agree must be punished the most and I have ordered prosecutors to demand maximum based on the article that can be imposed," said the man who just served since early March 2018.

In response to the "flood" of the narcotics case, the South Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office is preparing the development of the structure by forming the head of sub section (kasubsi) of drugs under the head of section (kasi) of public crime (pidum) of the State Attorney.
