Paringin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Balangan District Legislative Council (DPRD) studied the patchwork work policy on provincial and national roads using the local budget (APBD).


Chairman of Commission III DPRD Balangan Dadang Idi Fajeri on Sunday (27/5) revealed the need for the implementation of patchwork works on provincial and national roads is to accelerate the handling of damaged and perforated roads, although temporary.

"Road damage can certainly cause various obstacles for road users, whether related to the activities of road users, cars and motorcycles damage, accidents, and so on. So we can not just wait for work by the owner of the job," he said.

Commission III with entourage and Bina Marga (Highway dept) of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Agency have coordinated with Bina Marga of Surabaya, East Java, Public Works on Thursday (24/5).

"We are coordinating to Bina Marga of PU Office Surabaya City, related to the patchwork work policy on provincial roads and national road segments using APBD, including what should be prepared as legal umbrella in the implementation then," he added.

He said that the patchwork work is allowed if it is not too large, then done with a self-managed system by the technical implementation unit (UPT) or task force after given a decree by the related agency.

"The form is non-profit and its nature for small-scale activities, at least temporarily able to reduce road damage, before maintenance of large-scale roads by the province or by the Hall of Road Executive," he concluded.
