Barabai, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Central Hulu Sungai Police (HST) Police have arrested a man with a thousand liters of diesel fuel on the public road of Kasarangan Village, North Labuan Amas Subdistrict, Saturday (14/4) at around 12.00.
"In his metallic blue Isuzu Panther car, we found 1,000 liters of diesel stored in 32 jerry cans," said Head of Resort Police AKBP Sabana Atmojo.
The arrest started from the information of society about fuel transportation activities in large quantities in the Kasarangan Village.
Police officers immediately investigated and succeeded in arresting YM, a resident of HSS.
According to police chief, the perpetrator was arrested for transporting diesel fuel without a license from the authorities. Furthermore, the perpetrator and the evidence were brought to HST Police headquarters for further examination.
The perpetrator violated Article 55 Jo 53 point b and d Law No 22/2001 on Oil and Natural Gas for misusing the transportation and/or trading of subsidized diesel fuel without permission.
"We deeply appreciate the community for their participation in helping the Police to eradicate illegal fuel business, and we urge the community to continue to be a partner of the National Police in combating the illegal fuel cheating practices in Bumi Murakata (nickname of HST)," he said.
