Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that South Kalimantan's export value in February 2018 decreased by 6.33 percent compared to January exports.


"The export value in South Kalimantan in February reached US$654.19 million or 6.33 percent lower compared to January amounted to US$698.36 million," said Head of South Kalimantan BPS Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Monday.

When compared to the export value in February 2017 which reached US$496.85 million, she said, the value exports in February this year rose by 31.67 percent

The main commodity contributing the largest exports was a group of mineral fuel amounted to US$585.01 million, down 1.08 percent compared to January exports of US$591.42 million.

The second commodity was the group of fats and animal/vegetable oils that contributed exports with a value of US$55.95 million or decreased 42.50 percent.

The third was groups of timber, wood goods with the export value of US$7.68 million, up 13.18 percent compared to January 2018 which reached US$6.78 million.

The main export destination countries are China with a value of US$225.61 million, India US$116.26 million, and Japan US$105.75 million.

While import value in February US$100.68 million or rose 4.25 percent compared to January US$96.57 million and down 14.78 percent compared to February 2017.

The main commodities of imports were mineral fuel US$76.62 million, ships US$12.50 million and US$ 3.00 million for machinery/aircraft mechanics.

"The main import supplier countries are Singapore US$55.87 million, Malaysia US$23.95 million and South Korea US$15.35 million," he said.
