Batulicin, S Kalimantan March 28 (AntaranewsKelsel) - The Tanah Bumbu administration need as much as Rp1,8 trillion to build Kusan River Dam, which is planned to be implemented in 2020.


Head of Tanah Bumbu Public Works Agency Roy Rizali Anwar in Batulicin, Wednesday, said the fund will be allocated through local budget (APBD), South Kalimantan provincial budget, and state budget (APBN).

"The development stage has already begun, at the 2016 Tanah Bumbu has disbursed about Rp5 billion to make a dam-making study submitted to the Ministry of Public Works, whether the location is worthy to build a dam or not," he said.

He said the team's review for one year received approval from the ministry that the location in Kusan Hulu is feasible to build a dam to cope with the floods.

The next stage of 2017-2019 periode is a contract between the local government and the second party to prepare the Detail Enginering Design (DED) and the making of Environmental Impact Analysis (Amdal).

After the DED compilation contract has been completed, the next stages are land acquisition, resettlement, and the buildup of dam building materials.

The construction of dam in addition to overcoming floods, also has many other benefits that can be felt by the community.

"It prevent water inundation from occurring during heavy rains, also as hydropower (PLTA), so it can generate electricity," he said.

Dam construction can also be utilized to increase the productivity of agriculture to flow thousands of hectares of rice fields in the area around the dam.
