Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Mayor of Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina introduced and recommended Banjar typical cloth sasirangan during his visit to the United States last week.
Ibnu Sina, when contacted on Friday, confirmed that he gave some sasirangan as souvenirs to some people while in the country.
The Mayor's visit to the United States was with Deputy Staff of President Darmawan Prasojo, member of Ombudsman RI Dadan S Suharmawijaya, and Deputy Assistant of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministery (Kemenpan RB) M Imanuddin since Tuesday (14/3).
According to Ibnu Sina, the sasirangan fabric was given to Sharon Nuova, Chairwoman Board of Fairfax County of Virginia of USAID Cegah program.
Sasirangan fabrics are also given to the Ombudsman of Indonesia and the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry officials to be worn while in the US.
The mayor of Banjarmasin was invited to the United States for being accredited by the central government in running the complaint service.
Since its inception in early 2017, the Complaints Sub-section led by Novri Gitayanti S. Ikom, M.I.Kom continues to make improvements and services to the public.
Exactly one year running, in early 2018, Banjarmasin received an award from the central government as a city that has the best Sub Division of Complaints Service from 10 government agencies in Indonesia.
Appreciation is not only given by the Kemenpan RB but the international party through USAID Cegah, which headquarters in the states. Cegah (means prevent) is an anti-corruption program, funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
Mayor H Ibnu Sina was invited to Uncle Sam's country to follow public lecture about complaint handling system, e-report, and public feedback to improve government at the Indonesian embassy in Washington DC.
There, H Ibn Sina, in addition to learning about the history of the complaint, also made presentations and discussions with some circles, from Indonesian students to senior VOA reporters.
