Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor has requested support from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) to realize the Banjarmasin-Batulicin toll road.


According to him, the expressway development plan is one of the provincial government's strategic programs to support the development of Special Economic Zones (KEK) Batulicin.

"We really hope the ministry can help realize the program,"he said in Banjarmasin on Thursday.

The proposed freeway development plan that will cut the time of the Banjarmasin-Batulicin journey which is now 7 hours to just three hours has been delivered.

According to the governor, realizing the program his side has conveyed to the president on various occasions but has not yet been followed-up.

Earlier, Wednesday (28/2) night in South Kalimantan the Regional Pre-consultation of PUPR Ministry 2018 for Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara was opened by Secretary General of PUPR Ministry Anita Firmanti. The meeting took place three days, from February 28 to March 2.

Anita who was met after the event revealed, related to the request of the governor to support the construction of the freeway, it will learn more detail.

"The point is this program will be put into proposals that are included in the ministry. The existing proposals will be our study if eligible we will process immediately," she said.

Previously, Anita said that in 2019 all the multiyear project submissions will not be followed up to anticipate things that are not desirable.

"2019 is a political year, so if there is a government implementing the multiyear program started that year, it is feared does not fit the new leader's program," she said.
