Tanjung, S Kalimantan, Jan 17 (Antara) - The country`s second largest coal producer PT Adaro Indonesia has decided to cut its coal production to 50 million tons this year from 52 million tons in 2017.

A company`s spokesman Rizki Dartaman said the cut in production is a long term strategy of the company.

"Although the coal price has increased , Adaro decided to cut its production as a long term strategy," Rizki said in this South Kalimantan city on Wednesday.

With the production cut, Adaro hopes to be able to operate longer in the regency of Tabalong and to contribute to the welfare of the local people.

PT Adaro started operation in coal mining in the region including the districts of Balangan and Tabalong in South Kalimantan.
