Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewasKalsel) - Head of Kotabaru Housing and Spatial Planning Agency H Akhmad Rivai invites the head of agencies of the local government to succeed the city without slums (Kota Tanpa Kumuh or Kotaku) program in the district.


"The relevant working units (SOPD) should be able to take their respective roles in reducing slum area, so Kotaku program target can be realized sooner," Rivai said on Friday.

Kotabaru district government supports the national program City Without Slum (Kotaku), for the realization of habitable, productive and sustainable urban settlement.

Previously, the former Assistant for Economic and Development explained that the Kotaku program as part of the Kotabaru Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2015-2019.

The goal is to achieve urban slum settlement to 0 percent through the handling of the slum area of ??38,431 hectares.

Rivai also hopes that strategic programs, such as home renovation, and other strategic programs should be focused in slum areas, as many inadequate houses need government intervene to repair them.

So do other programs in related agencies, should also be able to take part in accordance with their respective fields.
