Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of Kotabaru Cipta Karya Office, South Kalimantan, H Akhmad Rivai stated that the district government is not only serving the surviving people, but the people who died also to be served maximally.

"The provision of services to the dead is done by preparing the corpse supply to a garden-oriented tomb," said Rivai in Kotabaru on Wednesday.

Starting in the budget year of 2017, Cipta Karya Agency set up a public cemetery park (TPU) that has tourist value.

"We have prepared 2 hectares of land in the village of Sigam, on the outskirts of the capital of Kotabaru for a public cemetery using the concept of tourism," Rivai explained.

In addition to preparing TPU, local governments are also preparing complete equipment for the corpse, such as shroud and others, gravediggers, even ambulance.

The settlements and public housing agency also work together with the local Civil Registry and Demography Agency (Disdukcapil) to provide death certificate.

There are at least two benefits of such cooperation. First the death certificate as well as data collection of the number of people who died to be recorded, while the population died has not been recorded to the fullest so far.

Secondly, with these records, residents can make it proof their family died to get incentives from local governments amounting to Rp1 million per person.

Akhmad Rivai explained, two hectares of land is predicted to accommodate about 2,000 people, which is estimated enough for four years.

"Currently we are preparing a management agency or Technical Implementation Unit (UPT), including facilities and infrastructure, such as ambulances and grave cleansers, as well as grave diggers," he explained.

He said the program is an implementation of Government Regulation No. 08/1987 on the Provision of Funeral Land.

According to the former Assistant Governance and Expert Staff of the Regent of Governance, with a rapidly growing population the district required approximately 20 hectares of land.

The initial phase of the government needs to provide 3-4 hectares of land with the size of each body 2 meters x 1 meter.
