Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 16/10 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Provincial Government encourages the acceleration of the Batulicin Special Economic Zones (KEK) in Tanah Bumbu District to become the largest industrial area in the region.

South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor in Banjarmasin on Monday said one of the efforts to support KEK is to support the development of Industrial Polytechnic in the district.

"The provincial government has granted 50 hectares of land for the development of Industrial Polytechnic in Batulicin industrial zones," he said.

Previously the Ministry of Industry has held discussions that resulted in the formulation of preparing funds for the construction of Polytechnic, including its infrastructure facilities.

Then the provincial government prepared 50 hectares of land in Batulicin Industrial area, while Tanah Bumbu administration prepares lecturers who until now amounted to 15 with seven special skills.

According to the Governor, currently in South Kalimantan, there are two points of national strategic projects under development, namely in Batulicin, Tanah Bumbu, and in Jorong, Tanah Laut District.

The entry of industrial estates in Batulicin and Jorong in national strategic projects (PSN) is expected to accelerate the growth and development of industries in South Kalimantan.

Both regions, he added, are expected to develop faster as industrial zones supported by adequate infrastructure such as ports.

"The impact of determining the two areas to become PSN is very positive, among others, provides convenience for the business world to obtain the plot of ready-to-build industry, which is equipped with adequate infrastructure," he said.

In addition, it provides legal certainty of the location of business premises, addressing spatial issues and simultaneously controlling the environmental impacts caused by industrial activities.

Previously, the Regent of Tanah Bumbu Mardani Maming said building Polytechnic Industry is not easy. It required continuous coordination between the provincial, central, and district.

Currently, the Polytechnic Batulicin Industry is under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry rather than the Ministry of Education, so the Batulicin Polytechnic of Industry is different from the Tanah Laut Polytechnic which is under the Ministry of Education.
