Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 5/10 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Program Coordinator of the Directorate of Education and Community Service of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Roro Wide Sulistyowati declared that based on 2014-2017 data the biggest perpetrators of corruption are in the private profession, covers 164 cases.


"The second rank is official with 148 cases, and the third is DPR and DPRD members cover 129 cases," said Roro Wide Sulistyowati in Banjarmasin on Thursday.

According to her, the mayor, regent, and vice-regent are in the next position with 60 cases, followed by heads of agencies 25 cases, 17 cases of governors, 15 cases of judges, 7 cases, 4 cases of the commissioner, and others with 81 cases.

There are seven forms of corruption that occur in Indonesia, namely the loss of state money, bribery, embezzlement in office, cheating, conflicts of interest in procurement, and gratuities.

In practice, she explained, criminal acts of corruption were committed in cash transactions, such as bribery related to office, bribes in procurement and licensing.

Furthermore, she said, from January to July 2017 the total reports of suspicious financial transactions as many as 8,350 and 22.3 percent or 1,863 of which allegedly related to corruption.

Separately, Head Unit I Sub Director III Corruption of South Kalimantan Police Special Crime Detective Directorate Adj Comr (AKP) Andri Hutagalung revealed there are three institutions whose duty is to eradicate corruption in Indonesia, namely KPK, police, and prosecutors.

According to authority, he explained, KPK conducted investigations, prosecutions, and judiciary, while the Police have the authority to conduct an investigation, and the prosecutors to conduct investigations and prosecutions.
