Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducts monitoring and evaluation related to action plans in Tabalong and North Hulu Sungai (HSU), South Kalimantan, as well as socializing the KPK function as an independent institution.

Coordinator of Supervision for Prevention of KPK Maruli Tua in Tanjung on Monday said that the action plan of integrated corruption eradication conducted by Tabalong and HSU Government should be stated in the decree of the head of the region.

"So far, the public has highlighted the KPK as the punisher of corruption, but as an independent institution, KPK also has the task of monitoring, supervision, and coordination in eradicating corruption," Maruli explained.

Through a meeting with officials in the district of Tabalong and HSU, Maruli wanted to recall the function of KPK as an independent state institution given the mandate to eradicate corruption.

He cautioned about the nine points prone to corruption among bureaucrats, especially in the budgeting process of APBD, starting from planning, implementation, to accountability and evaluation.

Even Maruli reminded the officials of these two districts to be able to overcome the illness of forgetting because it started from forgetting someone can practice corruption.

In addition, the high cost of politics, both local election for regional head and legislative members, also became the trigger of corruption. Therefore, those who want to participate in the 2018 election must be more careful.

"The property owned by a regional head is not comparable with the political costs that must be borne, thus it motivates to corrupt to be able to return the capital he has expended," explained Maruli.
