Cataract Surgery, titled "One Light, a Million Stories" held by PT Adaro Indonesia and PT Saptaindra Sejati in collaboration with the Balangan Health Office and Datu Kandang Haji Regional Hospital, targeting to restore normal vision to 153 pairs of eyes in the district.
Tonie Sunardi, PT SIS management representative, said the cataract surgery held from November 12 to 15, 2025, involved ophthalmologists and local healthcare workers.
He said Adaro and partners had held cataract surgery since 2003 and by 2025 more than 7,000 eyes (an average of 320 pairs of eyes per year) have been treated.

Especially this year, it targeting 480 eyes across six regencies surrounding the company's operational area: Tabalong, Balangan, Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU), Batola, Barito Timur (East Barito), and Barito Selatan (South Barito).
It involved CV PPI, experienced and professional company in cataract surgery services using Phacoemulsification technology, which offers faster, safer, and easier process of recovery for the patients.
The surgery was marked with a ceremony of handover of CSR fund for health sector from Tonie Sunardi (PT SIS) to Acting Regional Secretary of Balangan, Sufriannor. It was witnessed by Adaro's CSR Department Head Iwan Ridwan, YABN representative Zulfa Anita Rody Ermawan, and officials from the Balangan government.

"This free cataract surgery is a great blessing, because eyes are an extraordinary and priceless gift," said Acting Regional Secretary Sufriannor.
He expressed his appreciation for the support and concern of Adaro and its partners (PT SIS dan YABN) in helping realize the the recipients' hopes of clearer and brighter vision.
One of cataract patients, Mislawati from Juai Sub-district, expressed her gatitude and happiness for receiving free surgery from Adaro and partners.
"I am so happy can see more clearly thanks to free cataract surgery from Adaro," said Mislawati, who was selected to deliver her testimonial to the guests.
