Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) -  Kotabaru regency declared its readiness to welcome the relocation of the nation's capital and urged executives and related parties to work together in an effort to make it happen through lobbying and coordination with the central government.



Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) Hj Alfisah here on Thursday said with the potential that is owned, both the area and natural resources (SDA), Kotabaru is ready to be the destination for the relocation of the nation's capital.

"Kotabaru long ago already inventory the potential existence, such as seaports whose position is right in the central archipelago," said Alfisah.

According to her, all the potentials of Kotabaru have been recorded in the Provincial Development Planning Board (Bappeda) since the previous administration (Regent Irhami-red).

In connection with the selection of Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu as an ideal area to become the state capital, Alfisah urges all parties to jointly strive for the discourse to materialize.

"Local government through related institutions, among them Bappeda, must be proactive to convince and coordinate with other parties, trying to explain the potential of Kotabaru to the center," she explained.

Similarly, the legislature, with its inherent duties and authorities, will be ready to cooperate, synergize, in realizing the discourse, either through policy or regulatory publication if necessary.

Previously, the provincial government through the Head of Bappeda Nurul Fajar Desira explained the proposal or statement of the readiness of South Kalimantan to be the state capital city has reached the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).

The final decision will be in the hands of President Joko Widodo by considering inputs, among others from the team exploring the venue for the relocation of the Indonesian capital from Jakarta, he said in Banjarmasin on Thursday.

"According to the governor anywhere in Kalimantan become the capital of the country, South Kalimantan will get the impact of progress," he said.
