Kotabaru, South Kalimantan 26/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Two fishermen from North Pulaulaut Subdistrict, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, were found safe, after 12 hours adrifted by the sea waves after their ship damaged.


Head of Water and Air Police Unit (Satpolair) of Kotabaru Resort Police Adj Comr (AKP) Tony Hartono said on Wednesday he received reports of the missing of two fishermen named Agus (17) and Sudani (15) on Monday (24/5) night.

"The victim's family informed previously that two racing boats leave Rampa Lama Village at around 08.00 to sell fish and shrimp," he said.

One ship driven by Iwan (23) took Agus and Sudani. While the other one driven by Busro (40), bringing Hamdani (25) and Taufik (17).

Half an hour later, the ship Iwan was driving was damaged. As the propeller was broken in the waters of Senakin, Central Kelumpang Sub-district.

Then the Busro ship approached Iwan's ship. After that, Iwan moved goods to the Busro ship. Agus and Sudani were left on a damaged ship.

"At about 11:30 Busro's ships finished selling fish, then went back to look for a damaged ship with passengers Agus and Sudani, but did not find it," Tony said.

Getting news the two teenagers were missing, the family assisted by villagers directly searched them. Until the night the result was nil and the search was forced to stop because of the weather and high waves.

"The wave height of more than two meters, our ship almost drowned because of water, can not be forced," said the victim's family, Markasih.

The plan Tuesday morning the search resumed, but there was information that both victims were found in a state of safety by Pudi Village fishermen. That morning the family picked up Agus and Sudani.

When encountered at his residence, Agus told his ship washed away by waves. Fatigue made him and Sudani several hours asleep on the ship. After more than 12 hours oscillated in the sea, the ship finally drifted to the waters of Pudi Village, North Kelumpang Sub-district.

"We pedaled up to the edge, it was around 2 am, then there were people who saw and rescued. Our ship was also repaired," he explained.
