Martapura, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Government of Banjar District, South Kalimantan, introduces Puncak Pagaran tourism in Pengaron that offers natural beauty, both mountains and hills.


Pengaron Sub-district Head Rulliadi in Martapura on Monday said Puncak Pagaran can be a new tourist attraction as an alternative to enjoy the beauty of natural panorama.

"We hope Puncak Pagaran is able to become an alternative tourist destination because of the beauty of natural panorama around it is very cool for the eye to look," he said.

Pagaran Summit natural attractions is in one location with the Oranje Nassau Underground Fortress and coal mine which are well known to tourists.

The fortress and mine had been established into a cultural heritage site by the Archaeological Center of South Kalimantan, so their existence are preserved and protected.

"The area of tourist objects are close to each other, so that visitors can enjoy the fortress and the former mine and then end the tour to Puncak Pagaran," he said.

Meanwhile, he on Sunday (16/7) has confirmed the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) who is ready to help keep the surrounding area as well as introduce the object of tourism.

"A pokdarwis consist of community around here that is recruited and trained, so they have the ability to keep the area and guiding visitors to the tourist attraction," he said.

It is expected that through the role of Pokdarwis Puncak Pagaran natural attractions can be better known as well as improve the welfare and economy of the surrounding community.

Head of Destination of Banjar Tourism Agency Faizal said the existence of Puncak Pagaran is expected to add the attraction to visitors.

"Our hope, Puncak Pagaran can attract the interest of domestic and foreign tourists because of this natural attractions as well as cultural tourism and history," he said.
