Martapura, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjar District Health Agency along with Family Welfare Movement Team (TP-PKK) encouraging campaign against cervical cancer.


Located at Lok Baintan Public Health Clinic (puskesmas) in Sungai Tabuk Subdistrict, Saturday (08/07), a visual inspections by using acetate acid (IVA) test held for mothers.

"This early detection of cervical cancer through IVA examination is one effort to suppress the number of sufferers of cancer which become the specter for women," said Head of Sungai Tabuk Sub-district Ahmad Fauzi.

Head of Health Agency Ikhwansyah said cervical cancer became the number one killer of women in Indonesia. Every day one or two women die of cervical cancer and breast cancer.

"Hence, we appeal to women and mothers to as early as possible to go to health units such as health centers or hospitals," he appealed.

Chairwoman of TP PKK Hj Raudathul Wardiah said the organization strongly supports the campaign and socialization of the national movement early detection of cervical cancer on a continuous basis./f
