Grandma Masdi (69), a resident of Dahur Village, Tanta Suib-district in Tabalong District, South Kalimantan, faces economic and physical limitations.

As a rubber farmer, she must care for and support her two orphaned grandchildren, Hanafi (11) and Muhammad Nafis (7).

The two boys, students at public elementary school SD Negeri Dahur, are among recipients of the "One Uniform a  Million Hopes" program initiated by PT Adaro Indonesia and Amanah Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN).

Hanafi, in fifth grade, and his younger brother Nafis in 1st grade, received uniforms and school supplies, such as bags and shoes.

For Grandma Masdi, this uniform and school supplies is a blessing amidst the heavy burden she faces.

“Thank you YABN and Adaro for providing assistance to my grandchildren,” she said.

She hopes her grandsons can continuee their education despite her financial limitations.

“I hope Hanafi can slowly continue his education. I also pray for a long life so I can continue taking care of them,” she said.

Grandma's life became difficult since her husband passed away three years ago.

And other tragedy followed, when her son and daughter in law, Hanafi's parents, died.

His mother died in 2022 and then his father in 2025.

It also happened to Muhammad Nafis, living with no parents by his side.

One Uniform a Million Hopes implementer from YABN, Bambang Sudaryanto, said the program aims to ease the burden of impoverished families and to assure children remain enthusiastic about school.

“We acknoweledge that many children have strong passion for learning but they are in difficult economic situation," he said.

Through this program, Adaro wants to ensure that they continue to have access to education, one of doing this is through school uniform support.
