Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regent Tanah Laut Bambang Alamsyah asked the mining company CV Dtran Katama Jaya to be responsible for the disaster that hit 71 residents of Kintap Lama due to collapse barrier of its former coal mine.
     

"The incident that befallen to 19 families or 71 people in Kintap Lama Village must be handled, while the authority to handle the problem is on the provincial government," said Regent Bambang Alamsyah in Pelaihari, Friday (23/6).
     
According to him, the thing that must be addressed is the people affected by the disaster, because the place where they live was swept away by the swift water caused by the mine wall fall out.

Regarding the handling of the problem of the former mining location, he said, Tanah Laut Government has coordinated with South Kalimantan Mining Agency.

He hopes the problem to be resolved soon, so no one will be harmed, especially the affected people.

Previously, local police chief AKBP Sentot Adi Dharmawan said, police will ask information from mining company, local governments, and victims due to collapse of former coal mine.
     
Separately, Acting Head of Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Muhammad Noor said BPBD had set up tents for temporary shelter for residents who lost their place due to the disaster.
     
In addition, he explained, BPBD together with Social Agency has been distributing logistics assistance to 71 victims of the disaster.
