Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 29/5 (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 12,000 takjil prepared by PT Angkasa Pura I management of Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin to be distributed to passengers before the breaking of the fast.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Syamsudin Noor Airport Handy Heryudhitiawan in Banjarbaru said on Monday, dozens of thousands of takjil (light iftar snack) packages were distributed during Ramadan.

"Every day as many as 400 packages of takjil distributed, so in one month during Ramadan there are 12,000 takjil packages distributed free to passengers," he said.

He said the takjil --containing mineral water and two to three kinds of cakes-- giveaway is a routine activity conducted by the management of Syamsudin Noor Airport every Ramadan.

The purpose is to help passengers break the fast, so no need to bother looking for water or cake while in the airport environment.

"Hence, the takjil giveaway is located in the departure lounge and arrival hall, so every service user can get takjil when close to iftar or breaking time," he said.

Two officers are prepared at the takjil booth to distribute takjil packets to passengers with a division time of at least 30 minutes before the breaking time.

"Our hope, 400 takjil packages prepared every day are sufficient for passengers so that all passengers get water and cake to break their fast," he said.

He added that the free takjil giveaway is also a part of PT AP I program which distributes 7,000 takjil daily for Ramadan at 12 airports under the management of the state owned airport operator.
