Kandangan, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The high rainfall on Friday (21/4) night caused Amandit River overflowed, resulting in floods that damaged a bridge and asphalt roads.


Batu Laki Village bridge, in Padang Batung Sub-district, connecting with Tambak Pipii hamlet was damaged.

Batu Laki Village Head Rudi (35) explained that besides damaging the bridge, the flood caused the asphalt road to be eroded about two meters, the chicken coop owned by the residents collapsed. Floods also soaked three houses, but there were no casualties.

"The three houses affected by the flood are Pandi's (57), Muhdi's (60), and Mulyadi's (55)," he said.

Residents affected by the flood, said Rudi, later reported that the water has receded and descended into the river.

The South Hulu Sungai Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) and National and Political Unity Office (Kesbangpol) together with the head of the local village checked the three houses in Muara Pii, Batu Bini Village, Padang Batung Sub-district. This area is prone to flooding.

Meanwhile, HSS Police Chief AKBP Sukendar Eka Ristiyan Putra through Public Relations AKP Agus Winartono confirmed the flood disaster that destroyed the bridge and knocked down buildings owned by residents but the situation is safe and conducive.

HSS police also conducted a land clearing activity due to landslides occurred on Saturday (22/4) in the village Lumpangi, Loksado. There were no casualties and landslides just about hit a kitchen owned by local resident.
