Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 10/3 (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total 175 thousand out of 974,759 households (RT) in South Kalimantan until now have no houses for their families.


South Kalimantan Regional Secretary Haris Makie at the coordination meeting on mapping the potential construction of houses in 2017 and 2018 together with the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry's Directorate General of Housing Finance here on Friday said of  974,759 households in the province as many as 779,559 own home.

The rest, said Haris, a total of 57,634 are still renting and 96,066 others are staying with other families and the remaining 21,500 households has not been recorded.

From these data, a total of 46,477 families have not had homes are in the city of Banjarmasin and as many as 16,805 families in Banjarmasin who still joining other families homes.

While unhabitable houses in South Kalimantan reached 41,561 homes, the highest in Central Hulu Sungai reached 6,380 homes, then Barito Kuala 6318 houses, Banjar 6,038 homes and 4,218 homes in Kotabaru, the lowest at Banjarmasin only 278 homes.

To increase home possessing, then in 2016 planned a construction of non-subsidized housing as many as 11,101 houses, but only around 6,158 have been realized. While the construction of subsidized houses (MBR) are 13.950 homes.

Regional Secretary expected, in addition to housing, the government and other related parties also pay attention to the access road in residential neighborhoods as well as public transport to society.

"I think this time is no less important is the development of public transport systems that are connected one region to another, as well as adequate roads and other public facilities," he said.
