The Semai Benih Bangsa Teachers Association (IGSBB) together with Indonesia Heritage Foundation (IHF), with the support of Tabalong Education Office, invited PAUD teachers to build appropriate communication with children to realize good changes in their behavior.
IHF representative Fida said the first step is building closeness between teachers and students using the formula of CUP (which stands for kiss, rub, and hug).
It is believed that this positive habit can trigger the love hormone in the brain, so that closeness grows which will later have an impact on students' obidience to their teachers.
Like a sponge, said Fida at the Character-Based Holistic Education (PHBK) Refreshment at Pembina Kindergarten, Tanjung , Friday, November 17, 2023, a child's brain at early age will absorb everything he sees, hears, and feels, without filters.
It is not suprising that sometimes a child utters dirty words, even though he doesn't actually know the meaning of these words.
Parents or educators should not rush to blame their children, but ask and correct them with good communication.
"Children aged zero to 12 years need to have lots of positive emotion experiences, such as a rich childhood experience with CUP," she expounded.
Childhood emotionally secure experience, full of love and affection can help shape wise adults.
She also said that the first step in building communication is to understand the feeling of the person you are talking to. Thus, it is important to introduce various feelings to children and then we encourage them to manage these feelings.
At early age, the development of emotional control progresses rapidly, and will decline at the age of 7.
Early childhod education (PAUD) educators need to provide sufficient portion to stimulate these emotional aspects.
One of which is by introducing main emotions, happy, angry, and sad emotions.
This effective communication material helps teachers to technicaly introduce to PAUD students.
So, PAUD teachers should not rush to teach reading, countitng skills before teaching emotional control to early aged children.
PAUD educators should not be inferior and must be confident beause they have contribution to prepare young generation with character.

As hoped by Erwina Nur Maharani, representative of YABN team for Adaro Nyalakan Ilmu (Adaro Ignites Education) program, that PHBK is an effor to build new generation with character, ethics, and good morals.
"Not only do students have character, they also able to achieve good achievements," said Erwina.
She was grateful for IGSBB independence in initiating the PHBK refreshment activity, because it really helps the sustainability of PHBK in Adaro's assisted PAUDs.
A representative of Tabalong Education Office Ahmad Syamsi who also attended the activity appreciated the PHBK refreshment held by IGSBB Tabalong together with IHF.
"It really support efforts to improve the quality of PAUD educators in Tabalong," said Syamsi.
Chairperson of IGSBB Tabalong Yani said that a refreshment is a need in order to improve the quality of PAUD teachers using PHBK methods.
"There are 118 PAUD teachers from 17 schools fostered by YABN and IHF who took part in this training," said Yani.(Adv)
