Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 18/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar led the environment clean up in the city of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Saturday.


The clean Up move all residents who have joined together to clean up the environment from 08:00 until 11:00 am.

Minister Siti Nurbaya expressed her joy to the Government of Banjarmasin who organized the clean-up with local communities, for the problem of waste must be overcome together.

Moreover, she said, it coincides with National Waste Care Day whose theme "Implementing an integrated waste management of mountain, river, beach city, till sea to realize a clean Indonesia 2020".

Banjarmasin, who has its own theme "Babarasih," rated by the Minister as exceptional, because it can move the student to the success of the big event.

"I strongly support the city of Banjarmasin to be the most beautiful river city," she said.

In addition to clean-up the environment, Siti Nurbaya also released fish to the Martapura River atriver embankment at Jalan R.E. Martadinata in front of city hall.

She also released bekantan to its natural habitat at the conservation of the long nose ape on the Bakut Island, Barito Kuala.

In the "Clean Up Banjarmasin Day 2017" action Mayor Ibnu Sina claimed tens of thousands of citizens and students were together cleaning up environment.

"At least 30 thousand people have participated in this activity in their respective environments," he said.
