The South Kalimantan Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) stated that the economic condition of the local province is still positive with an inflation rate of 1.71 percent (yoy) and deflation of 0.36 percent (mtm) pada in August 2024.
Head of DjPb Syafriadi in Banjarmasin, Monday (September 30, 2024), said that the inflation indicator of 1.17 percent was relatively low compared to the national average of 2.12 percent (yoy).
"Contirbutors to inflation in South Kalimantan include gold jewelry, sugar, parking fees, and kretek cicarettes,” said Syafriadi.
Five regions in South Kalimantan, he said, were the measurement samples with the highest inflation rate Banjarmasin 2.20 percent (yoy), and the lowest Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) District 0.72 percent (yoy).
In the month of Independence celebration, public spending was dominated by ceremonial activities, sports competitions, arts and other activities.

In term of government spending is continuing spending on infrastructure projects and plannned programs.
Meanwhwile, the trade balance returned to a surplus, but when compared to the same period in 2023 it recorded a contraction of -7.37 percent.
On month-to-month basis, there was an increase pf 35.58 percent compared to the previous month with a surplus of 917.66 million US dollar in August 2024.
"State income in South Kalimantan is falling, so strategic steps are needed to meet the target of APBN (State Budget) performance. Revenue until August 2024 was realized at IDR13.46 trillion or 59.27 percent from the target. Compared to the same period in 2023, the revenue performance has contracted by 17.10 percent,” said Syafriadi.
He said the contraction continued to decrease compared to the previous month, and is targeted to achieve the state revenue by the end of the year.
Even though the state revenue experienced a contraction, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) showed a positive growth of 11.64 percent with a realization of IDR1.23 trillion.
The realization of total state expenditure of IDR24.79 trillion or 64.00 percent of the ceiling showed an increase of 29.97 percent compared to last year.
The realization of expenditure in August 2024 consisted of Central Government Expenditure (BPP) of IDR5.77 trillion and Transfer to Regions (TKD) reaching IDR19.12 trillion.
