The new speaker of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Regional Representative Council (DPRD) Suwanti stated that she with other members will continue the remaining and unfinished programs and to realize the hope of the people of Kotabaru.
"We are ready to implement programs have not been completed and to improve programs have been implemented," said Suwanti when chairing a special plenary meeting of the Kotabaru DPRD with the agenda of inauguration and taking oath of DPRD members for 2024-2029 term of office, Monday (August 26, 2024).
Suwanti also asked for support from other DPRD members in carrying out duties, principles, and functions (Tupoksi) of this institution for the next five years as executive parners in building Kotabaru.
"To the Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar, Deputy Regent Andi Rudi Latif and staff, we invite you to work together to build "Bumi Saijaan" (Kotabaru's nickname) that we love to be better," said the cadre of PDIP.

Chairman of Kotabaru DPRD 2019-2024 Syairi Mukhlis, before handing over his position, explained that it was not an easy thing to fulfill all the diverse hopes and aspiration of the community.
"We members of Kotabaru DPRD for 2019-2024 realize, what ever we have to admit, there are still many people's hope for the DPRD have not been fulfilled," he said.
There were many demands from the community, some were not the authority of DPRD, demonstrations at the council building, became a medium for their complaints and hopes regarding complicated various problems. It was all the routine and must be accepted as political dinamics in democratic life.
"To fellow members of DPRD Kotabaru who are no longer serving, we ask you to continue to provide your service. DPRD is not the only place to dedicate your selves to the people of Bumi Sa’ijaan that we love," he invited.
Believe it, he said, the beginning of devotion and the end of devotion are like the light of rising sun on the the eastern horizon which is as beautiful as the light of the setting sun on the western horizon.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to Regent H Sayed Jafar, Deputy Regent Andi Rudi Latif, Regional Secretary and staff for their collaboration in handling various problems in five years.
The Regent congratulated the 35 new members who had just given their promises and oaths. He invited them to synergize to build a better Kotabaru.
"High enthusiasm has bee shown by the new DPRD Chair Suwanti," said Sayed Jafar.
