PLN Revokes Subsidies from 21 Thousand Tapin Residents

Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Manager of PLN Barabai Branch Gunawan said it would immediately decrase subsidies currently enjoyed by 23 thousand of 450-900 kwh customers in Tapin district.

     

Gunawan on his working and friendship visit to the Tapin Regent HM Arifin Arphan in Rantau on Tuesday said this cuts by the central government policy to remove subsidies from 900 Kwh electricity users.

Accompanied by PLN Unit Tapin Manager Mustafa Astam, Gunawan added, the revocation of such subsidies specifically for people who can afford.

     

"Our visit is to coordinate with local leaders in the revocation of public subsidies for 900-watt users," Gunawan said.

     

According to him, the current customers of 450-900-watt in Tapin as many as 23 thousand households. Only 1,946 households are in the category of can not afford, who will still enjoy the subsidies.

PLN relied on the data of the National Team to Accelerate Poverty Alleviation (TNP2K) of the Social Welfare Office.

     

"This tariff adjustment starting in January 2017 and to in effect gradually until June, so that by July 2017 the revocation of the subsidy would be applicable to 900-watts users," he said.

     

Regent Tapin HM Arifin Arphan said he support the efforts of the central government for PLN tariff adjustment, so that subsidies can really right on target.
