The government of Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) District, SouthKalimantan, is expanding nutritious food intervention for students as an effort to prepare quality human resources to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045.
“Especially elementary school (SD) students. Not only providing nutritious food but education about food that meet nutritional standards is also important, so it can be applied in daily life,” said HST Regent Aulia Oktafiandi after providing education on nutritious food at SDN 2 Telang, HST, Monday.
The activity, which is initiated by the HST Food Security and Fisheries Office (DKPP), he said, is implemented through GENIUS (which stands for education movement and providing nutritious food for students) program.
“We want to create a healthy and quality generation to prepare students as the Golden Generation 2045,” he pointed out.
Aulia expounded that SD students who are the target of this program will enter productive age in 2045. This is why elementary students are the main concern of the local government.
This program is implemented using educational approach, as well as providing nutritious food from animal protein source in the form of meat, fish, egg, and milk.
Through GENIUS program, Aulia hopes that children will have a better knowledege about the importance of balanced nutrition and can apply it in daily life in a sustainable manner.
Aulia also invited parents to increase awareness about the important of providing nutritious food for SD children to create a quality generation in 2045.
“Good quality human resources will help develoment in various regions, especially in Hulu Sungai Tengah District,” he said.
Head of DKPP Muhammad Afni Hidayat said that GENIUS program focuses on two concerns, namely educational movement and providing nutritious food.
“In addition to education, children are given nutritious food 10 times. This program is important to improve the quality of human resources in the region,” said Afni.
