Kandangan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Torrential rains since Monday (21/11) night until Tuesday (22/11) resulted in flooding. Hundreds of houses were submerged in the two sub-districts, Angkinang and Telaga Langsat, South Hulu Sungai (HSS).


Representative Kesbangpol Murhan said, 95 houses the in Lok Binuang Village submerged, a resident's kitchen collapsed or severely damaged, and a school SDN Madampa closed because of flooding.
 
"The kitchen collapsed or were severely damaged, because the house was on the edge of the river and partially submerged. The worst water level in Lok Binuang, Telaga Langsat, almost at adult chest," he said.

Flooding also inundated tens of homes in the Sub-district of Angkinang scattered in several villages including Angkinang village 50 family, Bamban 9, Lok Nyiur 10 and Kayu Abang 5, but there were no casualties.

HSS Police Public Relations AKP Agus Winartono said based of monitor flooding in the Angkinang caused by Hanyar River water debit rose and overflow citizens' settlement.

"The depth of flooding in the area reaches three meters, so the water is also spilling into the street," he said.

HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry accompanied by the Head of Social, Manpower, and Transmigration Agency Hj.ST.Erma, and Head of Angkinang Sub-district Dian Marliana and the entourage has been reviewing the location of flood in Pakumpayan village, Lok Dalam, and Lok Nyiur. He saw the public kitchen preparation by Tagana.
