Kandangan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Angkinang Police arrested a mugging suspect, AR (23), which was red-handed in his action on Thursday (10/11) 11.30 pm.


His effort to grab necklace from a grandmother, Waridah (65 years), a retired civil servant, Angkinang Villager, failed, after the victim screamed for help and tried to save herself.

The victim was waiting his son to pick her up to go home, when suddenly someone was trying to pull her necklace from her neck. She immediately shouted for help and a mob came right away and the suspect could not escape.

The suspect known to target the victim necklace worth Rp4.950.000 or weighing 10 grams. His action was a reckless, because it was done in a crowded street of Jalan A Yani Km 8.5 Angkinang village, South Hulu Sungai (HSS).

HSS Police Chief AKBP Sukendar Eka Ristyan Putra through the Public Affairs AKP Agus Winartono said the suspect was reckless doing mugging in intoxicated condition after consuming zenith.

"The suspect and the evidence of a necklace weighing 10 grams have been secured at the police station for further legal proceedings," he said.
